Working girl
To start my new job, I spend two hours waiting to be fingerprinted, two hours waiting for photo identification, and two hours waiting to be pricked with needles and injected with God knows what. I've had hearing tests, vision tests, blood tests, pee tests, and probably have a few more tests coming. I've never taken so many tests in such a short time.
But when I get my paycheck, I'm sure it will be worth the hassle.

Hey - I started today (yesterday actually, but the same date), as well. It sounds great fun!. I hope you get to the real work soon.
Cheers - Steve
Steve on February 2, 2005 02:53 AMGee last time I had a pee test I found out I was pregnant with my daughter...
LizU on February 2, 2005 08:45 AMWell, at least they left out the cavity search.
Good luck, buena suerte, bon chance, banzai, and Qap'la!

Monster from the Id on February 2, 2005 11:19 AMGuys, I'm working at a research hospital... nothing secretive. They just have to make sure that I'm clean, both in regards to my physical health and personal past! I had about 253,109 vaccines a few days ago, and have to go in again to have my bloodwork looked at. Seriously, I've never gone through such an exhausting process just to start a job.
And Monster, I would have left the place and applied at McDonald's if they required a cavity search!
Drina on February 2, 2005 11:55 AMAbout McDonald's and cavity searches: As they used to say on "You Can't Do That On Television", whaddaya think's IN the burgers?
Trying to remember never to say "I don't know"--OOPS! SPLASH! , Monster from the Id

Monster from the Id on February 2, 2005 09:14 PMIt will be worth it. Just think you've got it all out the way in one sitting, rather than tests on for weeks on end.
Smile it'll all be worth it
Spike on February 3, 2005 09:57 AMI got one measles shot today with another does coming a month from now, plus two more hepatitis b shots and a possible hep a. That, along with blood and tuberculosis test, will bring my total to 9 needles!
Drina on February 3, 2005 01:26 PMi used to always watch that show on nickelodeon when i was a kid. i'm canadian, and i've never seen it on canadian tv... how nuts is that?
michelle on February 3, 2005 02:51 PM9 needles? Yikes!
To find more pricks than that, you'd have to go to a neoconservatives' convention!
