Father knows bestNovember 14, 2004 | 12:52 AMWhen the first George Bush ran for reelection in 1992, I was much too young to vote for him. Of course, I wouldn't have voted for him anyway. He did, mind you, ignore all of my letters. The nerve... But recently I found something that almost makes me wish George Sr. had run for president in 2000 instead of his son. From A World Transformed: I firmly believe we should not march into Baghdad. To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day Arab hero. -President George Bush (the first one), 1998 Daily gratitude: That Stephanie still dutifully reads my blog even though she gets really annoyed by all of my political whining. Comments:On Father knows bestROTF...you know I can't get enough of all your psychotic blabbering!!! I will just have to endure the next 4 years of hearing how much better kerry would have been. (which I agree with) Posted by: Your Old Roomie at November 14, 2004 06:20 PMPsychotic blabbering? Is that what you think? Yeah, WELL... You're probably right about that. And about Kerry being better. Even Larry Flynt could have conducted himself with more honesty and integrity. Posted by: Drina at November 14, 2004 11:03 PMHi! You don't know me. I found your blog through peaceblogs. The first election I was old enought to vote in was 1984, when Reagan was running for re-election with Bush Sr. as his VP. The first misleading and hateful campaign sound bite I ever heard came out of Bush's mouth. In his presidential campaigns in '88 (beat Dukakis) and '92 (lost to Clinton) he was also a vicious mudslinger. The realization that even he is a better president than Dubya is the saddest part.
